GENE/Laval NSERC/UAlberta
Symposium on
Functional Genomics
of Early Development
in Livestock

The NSERC EmbryoGENE Strategic Research Network and the University of Alberta are pleased to announce an upcoming symposium focusing on "Functional Genomics of Early Development in Livestock".

This meeting will take place July 24-26, 2012 in Banff, Alberta and is a satellite symposium to the 2012 International Congress on Animal Reproduction (ICAR) which takes place July 29 - Aug 2, 2012 in Vancouver.

The research to be highlighted at the symposium will address the dynamic nature of early development in livestock species that involve gene transcription and translation, as well as the protein-protein interactions which must occur in order to produce viable offspring and how various factors can affect the critical physiological processes involved.

Scientists attending the meeting will represent a wide variety of different areas including: developmental biology, physiology, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics and statistics.
